As The Culinary Stone approaches its eighth anniversary, it has truly become a Coeur d’Alene staple. Once inside, visitors are welcomed with everything from kitchenware, specialty food and gift items, to the deli and café, cooking classes and wine tastings, and much more—all under one roof!

Start the morning off at The Café, where guests will be greeted by their friendly baristas. Enjoy European pastries, freshly baked breads and authentic French quiche, along with a variety of smoothies, iced coffee drinks and fresh treats to indulge during the long North Idaho summer days.

For a quick and delicious lunch, check out their Italian-style delicatessen, where sandwiches are made using only the highest quality meats, sliced to order, and unique cheeses from around the world. Find seasonal specials and salads, and homemade soups made daily Monday through Friday.

If wine is on your list, their on-site certified sommelier can curate that perfect wine for any occasion. Wine tasting classes are offered at an incredible value at $15 per person, and include a sandwich, generous pours of at least five, and up to eight, wines each session, valuable instruction from their sommelier and a lively Q&A after each event. All wines tasted are available for purchase after the class.

Demo-style cooking classes provide a variety of cuisines and personalities to feed your culinary tastes and knowledge. “Our cooking classes and chefs offer a variety of menus from across the globe,” says Sandy Volkar, owner. “They are a perfect night out to broaden your culinary skills in a fun and relaxing atmosphere.”

The heart of any culinary enthusiast will be delighted at the vast array of kitchen accessories, cookery and cooking utensils available at The Culinary Stone. Stop in to see their selection of specialty barbecue accessories, local sauces, seasonings and spices, summertime kitchen accessories and gift items to create that perfect summer.

During the summer months, The Culinary Stone hosts their weekly Thursday Night BBQ. Join them as they prepare a classic summertime barbecue menu, with choice of beer, wine or non-alcoholic beverage, accompanied by live performances from a variety of local musicians, playing everything from country and folk to classic and not-so-classic rock, and even the artists’ original music. All for $15!

“We take pride in seeing our customers come in and enjoying all that we offer,” Sandy shares. “We have created a one-of-a-kind experience all under one roof for all members of the community to enjoy.”
