This Saturday, Spirit Lake promises a full day of family fun with events including the Yak-Bassin Fishing Tournament, Cardboard Boat Regatta, and a chili cook-off hosted at the mill pond at Fireside Park! The Cardboard Boat Regatta, created to inspire “corrugated chaos from creativity and the spirit of competition,” invites locals to compete for bragging rights and trophy plaques in categories including best time, best team spirit and most spectacular sinking. Be sure to arrive in clothes you don’t mind getting wet! Vendors will be lined up at the Little Park on 4th and Maine throughout the day. This event, sponsored by the Spirit Event Committee, will donate all proceeds to support the Empire Trails and Spirit Lake Park and Recs.
