Beauty. Elegance. Luxury. Envision a wedding amongst the flowers
By Jillian Chandler
Sandra Shuff is no stranger to the world of weddings. Her career began more than 40 years ago at age 17 working as an assistant to a church wedding coordinator. Ten years later, after moving to another state, Sandra became the primary wedding coordinator for another church — an easy transition with a decade of experience. After moving to Seattle eight years later, she became a wedding planner and loved the creativity that came with it.
Designing and planning for her own venue — Lavender Manor in Deer Park, Washington — began in 2010, planting fields of lavender for the venue, which took a few years to both plant and grow. Sandra held her first weddings on the property in 2015. As Sandra explains, “Lavender Manor continues to change, grow and mature more each year because I have an ultimate vision I am aiming to achieve.”
The options for services and amenities at Lavender Manor can be as simple as the grounds for an elopement; an intimate ceremony for six hours with photos, cake cutting and appetizers for 30 people; an eight-hour wedding ceremony and reception for 50; or a 10-hour package for 100 to 500 guests with full staff. “Our all-inclusive packages are customized to meet the needs of each couple,” Sandra adds. “We also have the extra special option for the couple to depart via helicopter after one of the many send-off options at the end of the day!”
The venue is close to town while serenely located in a beautiful country setting — one of the largest organic lavender farms in the country! — with 180-degree views overlooking Wild Rose Prairie with Mt. Spokane as the backdrop. A spectacular setting for any wedding or event. When the trees, grounds and facilities are lit up at night, it adds a magical element to the property. When needed, the 3,200-square-foot tent, with clear sides, protects guests from the weather without impeding the desirable view.
What really sets Lavender Manor apart is the care and attention that Sandra devotes to her couples. She will be by their side every step of the way, from planning, vendors, layouts, all while maintaining a calm experience throughout the process and a stress-free day-of celebration for the couple and their friends and family. Her love for her couples and all things weddings shines through. Sandra works hard to ensure each wedding is intentionally unique, so it is special to each couple.
“As a lifelong wedding professional, my most rewarding part of owning a wedding venue is to create the location, amenities, options, atmosphere and opportunity to fulfill the wedding vision and dreams of my couples,” Sandra smiles. “To see the look on a groom's face as his bride walks down the aisle or experiencing a father tear up as he walks his daughter down the aisle still brings tears to my eyes. And the children always charm me as they take their special jobs seriously. I love the joy at rehearsal as everyone comes together in anticipation of what is to come on the wedding day. To be part of a new family coming together is an honor I never take for granted. I feel it is a calling in my life.”
In addition to weddings, Lavender Manor makes a lovely backdrop to many special occasions, from wedding and baby showers to special anniversary parties or renewals. Birthday parties and family reunions are especially fun with all the space for yard games. “Booking Lavender Manor for your corporate meetings and events allows company staff to celebrate, learn and plan in an environment that feels removed from the daily stress of work while only a short drive from the office, and educational workshops offer a relaxed atmosphere that allows students to focus and learn without the distractions of regular life,” Sandra remarks.
Sandra invites you to schedule a visit or tour to Lavender Manor for the opportunity to visualize what your event could be amongst the fields of lavender.
